Marvin Coote- Head of School

Over the past few months, I have been overwhelmed with the blessings of support for the work we do here at Covenant Preparatory School. We’re not simply educating boys in Hartford or providing a challenging academic curriculum, or just changing lives for many of these students (many will be the first in their families to go on to a independent high school and/or college). There is something about the energy at the school that isn’t found anywhere else I’ve been. It’s not just a job – that’s so cliché to say – however, we take each day as an opportunity to share and teach families how to make educational and life choices that will impact their lives for years to come.

At Covenant Prep we approach each day with a singular quest – “How can we get better today?” Daily we learn something new or are faced with challenges that push all of us to new heights. Resiliency is a virtue. But our boys learn not only to be resilient but to live, grow, and flourish (vivat, crescat, floreat). Students at the Covenant Preparatory School accept all challenges and grow strong through their grit, determination, and effort.

Over the coming year, we will continue to grow. We are looking at ways to strengthen the curriculum, create pathways to ensure critical thinking skills are honed, and prepare students for the rigors of high school. Our students' growth, confidence, and achievement are driven by our faculty's deep commitment to providing a challenging environment that fosters inquiry and reflection on the learning process.

At Covenant Prep we believe that our curriculum should engage students' curiosity and prepare them for the diversity, complexity, and opportunities of the global community. We are redesigning our math and science curriculum to culminate in a STEM program that will transform the way in which our students are taught and learn to think about science and technology. These are just some of the ways that Covenant Preparatory School is taking a progressive step in shaping our students today but preparing them for the future.

Of course, words and pictures can't fully convey the life of our school. As Head of School, I encourage you to visit our school and experience first-hand how we know and inspire each child and prepare all of our students for lives of meaning, responsibility, and success.
