Individuals and companies provide a sustaining level of funding that helps to stabilize our operating budget. Your sustaining gift is something for which we would be so grateful. Through the generosity of these sustaining givers we are able to stabilize our funding of operating expenses and plan for the future. Thank you very much for considering a gift of appreciated stock to Covenant Preparatory School. Giving appreciated stock not only helps our school but provides a double tax benefit for you because you do not pay taxes on the capital gains and may deduct 100% of the fair market value of your gift.
Donating appreciated stock avoids the capital gain tax which you would pay if YOU sold the stock. By giving dollars which have not been taxed already you reduce your cost, and we hope this may allow you to increase your gift more easily.
In order to control the cost of selling the stock and realize more dollars for Covenant Prep we prefer that you transfer your gift directly from your account to ours.
