National Student Poetry Contest

Are you a poet? Do you want to be? Do you want to get your work in front of more people? Well here's an opportunity for you!


The America Library of Poetry is hosting a national competition. There are 4 divisions (based on your grade level in school) with a $500.00 grand prize and many other prizes (random drawings for all who submit a poem-laptops, netbooks, tablets...!). There's no entry fee, but there are some requirements on what you submit.

The poem:

- Can be handwritten or typed

- May not be any longer than 20 lines

- It can be in any style (except concrete/shape poems or blackout poems)

- It can be on any subject, but must not be vulgar, offensive, use profanity

- It must be your original and individual work


Mail (yes...on paper...in an envelope with a stamp) your entry to:

You must mail your entry by April 30, 2019.
